Put a 'Printer Friendly' or 'Print This Page' button on a page?

Printer Friendly Pages

With a 'printer friendly' option, the user has the option of displaying a page using a simplified frame--that doesn't has a minimum of graphics and no navigation--so the printed page looks good.

1. First, create your 'printer friendly frame'. You still probably want your company's logo and contact information, but otherwise you probably want to keep graphics are minimal.

2. In the module configurations, specify that frame as your 'Printer Friendly' frame. (NOTE: You may want to put the tag in your Printer Friendly frame so users can click it to print the page without having to choose File | Print from the browser menu.

3. On pages where you want the 'Printer Friendly' button to appear, use  the {_PRINTERFRIENDLY} tag.

4. If you want to use a button other than ProPageManager's default, put an image named 'btnPrinterFriendly.gif' in your /media/ppm folder.

 Print This Page

Use the '{_PRINTTHISPAGE}' tag.

You can also place this tag in a frame, so that all pages which use that frame will have a 'Print This Page' button.
